Beijing Improved Bus Services to Echo the New Operation Hours

( Post Time: April 20,2010 )
In order to apply the new adjusted-work-hour policy implemented since April 12th, bus services are adjusted to solve the high passenger flow during rush hours.
The new adjusted-work-hour policy changes some commuters’ work schedules which are postponed a half hour later from 9 am to 6 pm instead of the former one from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. This schedule is applied by those people work in the police, the traffic control departments and the civil affairs departments.
The Beijing public transportation department aims to provide a high quality service for the passengers in rush hours. They will investigate the conditions of the passenger flow and increase the number of buses when needed. Besides the lines in Beijing urban area, the long-distance lines linking urban and suburban district will also implement a positive policy that the number of buses will be increased by 10 percent and the operating time will be extended during the peak periods in order to meet passengers' demands. To improving the efficiency of the road system, the interval between buses will be shortening. And some main lines will dispatch a bus every two minutes.
Since the new commuter schedule system implemented on April 12th, the Beijing public transportation department has increased its transport capacity and extended its operating time in order to meet the demands of passengers.
